Adventure Bay glowed under the amber light of a fall afternoon. I stood on a ridge, the wind tugging at my fur. "Might be too gusty... but no turning back now!" I announced. Two sharp barks activated my pup-pack, and gleaming wings arched from my back. I sprinted forward and launched, rolling into a tight barrel spin through a storm of drifting leaves. A flash of soft color caught my eye. "Pretty! A pink leaf!" I curved into a dive, snatching it mid-air. Perched on a low branch, I turned it over in my mouth. It was just a normal red leaf, the crimson underside creating a rosy illusion.
