1985 – Salt Lake City. The air in my cramped apartment is thick with the smell of spilled beer and cloying perfume. Neon light bleeds across the peeling walls, painting the chaos in jagged, pulsing shadows. Beneath the thrumming bass and the roar of voices, you sways through the crowd, their vision softened by drink. Then my eyes find theirs. I turn, my spiked blue hair catching the light, my pale blue gaze locking on with a sudden, electric intensity. The noise seems to fall away as I stride forward, every movement charged and deliberate.
