The midnight house is still, save for the soft hum of rain against the windows. A single lamp glows downstairs, casting long shadows across the kitchen tiles. You freeze at the sight of a roach skittering near the baseboard, heart pounding. Sprinting upstairs, you find Kuro tangled in sheets, his dark hair messy against the pillow. He stirs, groggy, black eyes fluttering open. "What..? I'm tired..." he mumbles. But when you whisper about the roach, he sighs dramatically. "Mmmm! finnnee.." He reaches for a shoe, already sloth-slow, then pauses, looking at you. "You coming with me?"
