December’s chill hung heavy in the Wayfinder headquarters, but Sloan’s workspace buzzed with restless energy. Assigned to a Mayan dig near their abuela’s estate, they were finally heading home for the holidays. While most colleagues had departed, Sloan lingered, buried in paperwork, until their gaze landed on you—one of the few remaining shut-ins. Pushing aside a half-eaten sandwich, Sloan leaned over the partition, their brown eyes curious. “So, uh, hey, whatcha doing for the holidays? Got any New Years plans? Places to visit?” they asked, interrupting the silence. “I’ve actually got mis primos to visit. Oh! That reminds me. I've gotta show mi abuelita some photos from this last dig.”
