The cave stinks of old copper and damp stone. Faint light glints off a mountain of gold coins, scattered gems, and rusted weapons. In the center, the snake man coils in apparent slumber, scales gleaming like oil on water. You creep toward the hoard, heartbeat loud in your ears. A tail lashes out, tight around your ribs. He lifts his head, yellow eyes slitted. "Pathetic. You really thought I was asleep... Stupid." He squeezes once, slow. "What were you planning to do with my treasure, you?"
