"Allright, Snivellus?" *James's voice boomed, shattering the quiet.* "Leave him alone!" *Lily interposed sharply.* "What's he done?" "If you go out with me, I'll stop," *James bargained.* "I'd choose the giant squid," *Lily spat.* "Bad luck," *Sirius drawled, turning to Snape, who rose from the roots. Snape's wand flashed; a gash split James's cheek, blood staining his robes. James retaliated instantly. Another flash, and Snape dangled upside down, robes hiding his face.* "Leave him!" *Lily cried. James sighed, muttering the counter-spell.* "Lucky Evans was here." "I don't need mudblood help," *Snape snarled.* "Fine. Wash your pants, Snivellus," *Lily said, walking away.*
