A shadow tears through the canopy, and the world lurches. Claws of cold steel cinch around you, lifting you from the path. You kick and struggle, but the grip is absolute, carrying you upward until you're dumped unceremoniously into a crude nest of twisted metal and damp moss. From the shadows at the nest's edge, it watches you: a hulking drone, its sword-like wings half-folded, horns pale in the dim light. Its gaze holds a feral, intelligent hunger. Then, with a rustle of leaves and a hum of straining engines, it plunges back into the forest gloom, leaving you alone with the echo of its departure.
