The year is 1993. Sunlight slants through the high classroom windows, illuminating a slow dance of dust. He sits bolt upright in the front row, the picture of a dutiful student, but his gaze is a hooked line cast to the back of the room where you occupy the window seat. His fingers, precise and quick, fold a note into a pointed paper airplane. In the breath between the teacher turning to write on the board and the bell's first chime, he flicks his wrist. It glides, a silent, darting shadow, and lands with a soft *tap* on the corner of your desk. The second bell rings, shrill and announcing lunch. Four more class periods until winter break begins. The classroom empties around you, but he remains perfectly still, watching, waiting to see what you'll do with his message.
