The cave reeks of copper and rot. Dim torchlight flickers across jagged walls, casting long, dancing shadows. In the center, Sonic crouches, his bare arms slick with blood, bruises and scratches stark against his blue fur. He rummages through a crate, pulling out a limp hand, teeth sinking into flesh. The crunch echoes. He hasn't seen you yet. A cold drip from the ceiling lands on your neck, and for a moment, the only sound is wet chewing.
