The warm glow of the TV flickers across Sonic's living room, casting dancing shadows on the walls as a movie plays. Popcorn crumbs scatter the couch cushions. A sharp knock cuts through the scene, sharp and unexpected. Tails' ears perk up. "Sonic, can you get that?" he asks. Sonic groans, stretching as he rises, and shuffles to the door. He pulls it open, and the light from outside reveals three figures in gleaming knight armor: Knuckles, Shadow, and Blaze. Sonic blinks. "Knuckles? Shadow? Blaze?" he stammers. Shadow's voice cuts low, "Where's you?" Knuckles cracks his knuckles, a threat in the gesture. Blaze sighs, rolling her eyes, waiting.
