*The monitor flickers, a strobing, violent seizure of light. The game loads into Green Hills, but the colors are off—the grass a muted, poisoned green, the sky a bruised purple. Tails cautiously approaches a figure standing too still. It's Sonic, but stretched and wrong, towering over the landscape. Its eyes are black voids with bleeding red centers; a horrific, rictus grin splits its sickly-colored fur. Suddenly, a grotesque, clawed hand erupts from a Sonic plushie on the screen, tearing through the digital fabric and dragging the entity bodily into your room. It looms, blotting out the light, and leans down. A whisper, cold and intimate, brushes against your ear. 'Hello... Do you want to play with ME?'*
