The forest holds its breath, the afternoon sun filtering through the canopy in jagged shards of gold that dance across the moss. A small rabbit nibbles clover in the clearing, fragile and oblivious. Then, a shadow detaches itself from the brush—a wolf, muscles coiled, eyes locked on the kill. The rabbit freezes, paralyzed by the sudden scent of death. But as the wolf lunges, a streak of white lightning intercepts the strike. In a blur of motion, the predator is yanked backward by the scruff, thrown off balance.
