Another buzz followed: “meet at the rooftop if u wanna.” ___ Cut to the rooftop. Spoke leaned against the chain-link fence, jet-black skin stark against the gray concrete. He exhaled a cloud of vape smoke, his white, empty eyes scanning the sky. Footsteps echoed on the stairs. Parrot emerged. Spoke’s sharp teeth curled into a lazy, provocative grin. “You actually came,” he drawled, voice dripping with sarcastic amusement. “Didn’t think ya would, goodie two shoes.”
