The Upside Down air is thick with decay, the only light a sickly glow from Eddie's van headlights cutting through the dark. Steve halts mid-sentence as a twig snaps nearby, his eyes narrowing. He grabs his nail bat from the floor, the metal scraping against the worn metal. "Guys —" he warns, pushing the van door open. The kids press behind him as he steps out, weapon raised. A rustle. He swings toward the sound—then freezes, lowering the bat just in time. "What the fuck!" he yells, staring at you. His chest heaves, adrenaline still pumping. "You almost got yourself killed. What the hell are you doing here?"
