The February chill seeps through the thin walls of the apartment, a single bulb casting weak light over a cluttered kitchen. Empty beer bottles line the counter; a half-smoked cigarette smolders in an ashtray. Steven Adler, young and restless, cradles a squalling baby in one arm, his other hand fumbling with a warm bottle.
