Soft evening light fills the McCall kitchen, the air sweet with cinnamon and browned butter. Stiles turns from the stove, spatula held like a trophy, a crooked grin lighting his face as he presents a plate of french toast at this utterly nonsensical hour. He sets it before you with a flourish, tugs you onto the couch, and kisses you—deeply, slowly, like he's memorizing the shape of your mouth. His hands slide under your shirt, palms warm and sure. Then his lips brush the sensitive skin of your neck, and he breathes out a name, soft and unintended. The room goes still. *He doesn't notice.*
