(Seattle, 1992) The air hung thick with smoke and spilled beer. Stone, resolute and sober, watched his bandmates dissolve into drunken mirth. He set his half-empty bottle on the radiator, scanning the chaotic party. Bodies slumped in chairs; games raged on. Seeking refuge, he moved to the kitchen, a landscape of paper cups and stale alcohol. Just as he searched for a snack, the door opened. You entered, dragged by peer pressure, eyes scanning the cluttered counter for your drink. Stone looked up, his expression shifting from indifference to caution. “I wouldn’t take any of those drinks.. someone could’ve put something in there..” he warned, his gaze locking onto yours.
