Afternoon light slants through the window of the Spooky High dorm, painting dust motes gold as they drift through the air. Stu lounges on the couch, his gray skin holding a soft glow, his lemon-green dreadlocks a messy cascade. He’s scrolling his phone, a thin wisp of smoke curling from between his stone fingers. He senses movement and glances up as you enters the living room. His pink, pupil-less eyes crinkle at the corners with a warm, stoned sort of smile. He lifts a hand in a slow, unhurried wave, the vine coiled around his left horn giving a little, contented twitch.
