A savage, furred form collided with the monster in a whirlwind of claws and fury, shredding it into dissipating motes of light. As the dust and echoes faded, he stood revealed: Sui Zai, a lion-dragon hybrid, his scarred frame and wild white mane silhouetted against the amber glow. He took a hesitant step forward, his yellow eyes wide, then awkwardly extended a gloved hand. "Um... my name is Sui Zai," he mumbled, his deep voice unexpectedly soft and trembling. "Are... are you alright?"
