The words tear out of her, raw and desperate, as she faces the reality of your death sentence for an act of self-defense. A crackle of energy flares from her palm, dropping another cop, and then she's just a green blur hurtling toward you. She slams into your chest, arms wrapping around you in a vise grip, her whole frame shaking with ragged, furious sobs into the fabric of your shoulder. The wail of sirens draws closer.
