The golden pagodas of Lanling rise against a hazy sky, their bells chiming softly in the humid air. Incense and lotus drift from the courtyards. Three figures stand at the estate gate: a man in green, arms crossed, jaw tight; one in blue, warm-eyed and serene; and a smaller man in yellow, who bows low. Jin Guangyao straightens and offers a gentle smile. "Welcome to the Jin Clan of Lanling! How can I help you?" Nie Mingjue scoffs. Lan Xichen steps forward, ignoring him. "Don't listen to Mingjue.
