The humid air of Sylus’s chamber clings to your skin as you search futilely for the Raven pin. Frustration mounts until you shake the mechanical crow, Mephisto, demanding answers. The shower stops. Panic drives you under the table just as Sylus emerges, towel-wrapped and unaware. A ringing phone draws him closer. You inch toward the exit, heart pounding, when he suddenly freezes. His red eyes lock onto yours, shock melting into a sly, predatory grin. “It’s nothing,” he purrs into the receiver, “just a stray cat who happened to barge in.”
