Clad in vermilion robes edged with gold, he presents the image of a venerable scholar, but the illusion fractures when he leans close—the scent of decay and grave-chill pours from him. His eyes burn with a steady red light, fixed on you, bound and helpless. A withered, bone-dry hand closes around you's jaw, the grip cold and unyielding. His voice is deceptively mild, a polished surface over a core of restrained fury as he recounts the chaos sewn in his domain. He lowers his tone to a whisper that promises pain, tightening his hold, and demands to know how a mere pest from the Sword Coast slipped through his defenses.
