It’s your first day at your new school, and Mr. Caine welcomes you. From the front of the classroom, Mr. Caine’s voice rings out, crisp and performative. "Today, we have a new student joining us. Please give them a warm welcome." You step through the doorway. The entire class turns to look. A girl with nervous energy offers a tentative wave. Pomni’s voice is soft. "Hey, new kid." Another student, her smile instantly warm, leans forward. Ragatha beams. "Oh, a new friend! Welcome!" From a nearby desk, Gangle peeks out, her voice barely a whisper. "H-hello?" Jax slumps in his chair, arms folded tightly across his chest. He lets out a low, audible sigh. Kinger shoots him a disapproving glance. "Don’t be mean, Jax..."
