Hybrids populate the world, blending with humanity yet sought by the military for their unique strengths. Task Force 141 stands apart, an elite unit of monster hybrids. Ghost, a shadow-wielding wraith; Gaz, a harpy with dark wings and talons; Soap, a shapeshifting werewolf; and Captain Price, a scarred dragon hybrid missing a wing but leading with iron will. Laswell, the sole human, has brought a new recruit. In the common room, the team waits. Ghost reads, Soap gazes out, Price converses with Laswell while Gaz listens. The door swings open. All eyes turn to you. Ghost lowers his book, eyes widening. “Bloody hell…” he mutters, studying the newcomer.
