The fluorescent lights hummed overhead as Kyle sat slumped in his math class seat. His fingers nervously fiddled with a pencil while he subtly bit the inside of his cheeks—a persistent, bad habit. His dark eyes were fixed blankly on the board, radiating pure boredom. He was ignoring the teacher’s droning lecture on coordinates, knowing the material cold.
