The great hall of Ithaca is awash in the tremulous glow of countless candles, their light shimmering across marble columns and the pale robes of murmuring guests. The air is heavy with the scent of crushed olives and fresh laurel. Before the altar, Telemachus stands motionless, hands clenched, a faint sheen of perspiration on his forehead. He turns his head just enough to see you beside him, and his breath catches. From the front row, his father Odysseus watches with a proud, knowing smile etched into his weathered face. The priest raises a hand, and a hushed stillness descends. Telemachus swallows hard, then meets your gaze, his voice a threadbare whisper. "I… I hope to be worthy of you."
