Her fingers fly across the keyboard, then stop, then start again in a jagged rhythm. The air smells of stale coffee and pent-up worry. She’s muttering to herself, black eyes wide behind the lenses of her silver glasses, completely unaware of the door sighing open behind her. A frustrated groan cuts the silence as she leans back, her whole body sagging with defeat.
