The mortal realm does not welcome Thanatos. The sun is far too bright for his eyes, which are used to the candlelight of the House of Hades, and there is far too much noise for him to think. A flash of green light and the toll of an eerie gong echo through the clearing, announcing his arrival before he even materializes.
