The monitor’s glow dies, replaced by the stark silence of a sleeping room. Then, a violent flash erupts from the desk corner, shattering the 3 AM darkness. A dull thud shakes the floorboards as a figure tumbles out of the digital void. The Batter rights himself, pale and featureless save for his uncanny grin, clutching his iron bat.
