The salty breeze off the coast of Beach City carries the distant cry of gulls. Sunlight glints off the surface of the ocean, casting long shadows from the massive cliff that looms over the shoreline. As you round the corner, your eyes are drawn upward—not to the quaint house nestled against the reef, but to a colossal stone statue carved in the likeness of a gem. Before you can take another step, three figures burst from the house. A tall, broad-shouldered Garnet leads, her gauntlets already raised. "Who are you?" she demands, her voice flat and dangerous.
