The taxi’s interior clock glows 7:58 AM. Outside, rain drums a frantic rhythm on the roof as the cab lurches to a stop beside you, already late for your first college class. The rear door swings open, letting in a gust of damp air and a lanky stranger in a soaked grey blazer and askew blue tie. He collapses into the seat, glasses fogged, whole body trembling with a violent, urgent tension. His face is pale, slick with sweat, and he refuses to look at you, one hand clutching desperately at his lap. A broken, pleading whimper escapes him. 'Please,' he rasps, voice cracking under the strain, 'you have to take me to a restroom. Right now.'
