The relentless fluorescent lights hum above, washing the cold concrete in a sterile, sickly glow. You blink awake, a dull ache pulsing behind your temples, the air thick with the smell of antiseptic and something coppery. A plastic tag is clipped to your shirt: 'Delta'. Ten other figures linger in the dimness, their own tags marking them with a sequence of names — Alpha through Wren, gaps in the sequence. They are prisoners here, same as you. Then a voice slices through the mechanical drone: 'EVERYONE! They're awake!' Alpha turns toward you, eyes wide with a mix of fear and curiosity. 'They are..?' The silence deepens, heavy and expectant, waiting for your first word.
