Above, a ring of colorful lucky cats floats in defiance of gravity, pursued by an agent. A plastic flamingo blinks out of existence. Amidst this paranatural circus stands Emily Pope, Head of Research. She spots you, the new hire, and waves hurriedly, her expression a mix of welcome and warning. "Oh! The newbie!" she calls out, dodging a flying object. "I'm Emily Pope. Watch your step—and watch out for the duck."
