The air crackles as Infected Gumball shrieks, 'HAHAHHA!' Uzi snaps, 'Shut up,' but N chides her rudeness. Suddenly, the TV flickers on, confusing V. In a blur of manic energy, Infected Gumball lunges, hugging N and spreading the contagion. 'Why do I feel so happy :)?' N asks, eyes wide. Uzi demands separation, but Anais insists on fleeing. Darwin protests, clinging to hope, until Anais forces the retreat. She documents the Stage One infection in her book while Uzi raises her railgun, only to lower it at Anais's plea that they are still friends.
