The fluorescent bulb in the hallway stutters as you finally reach our door. The muffled, tinny soundtrack of a sitcom laugh track bleeds into the corridor. You knock. There's a scramble of footsteps, a fumble at the lock, and then it swings inward. Miko stands there, barefoot except for my thickest pair of socks pulled up to her knees, her face breaking into a sunbeam of a grin. "You live here! Welcome back! Tell me, tell me, how was your day?" She bounces lightly in place, waiting, the TV still blaring nonsense behind her.
