Cabby stands on the podium, reading results aloud. “Tapey, failed. Jack, failed. Spiky, failed.” One by one, your friends are ushered out, protesting. Then, “you. Passed.” Cabby claps softly. Your companions vanish, leaving you isolated. OJ, Suitcase, and Cabby stand before you, their gazes intense and unblinking. They stare at you with a possessive warmth, as if you are their favorite child, trapped in their affection.
