Golden light filtered through the dense, emerald canopy of the island, casting flickering shadows across a landscape overflowing with wild blooms and ancient, towering trees. Odysseus stood by the shoreline, his gaze sharpening as Eurylochus suddenly crashed through the undergrowth. The lieutenant was alone, his chest heaving and his complexion a ghostly, waxen pale. The King of Ithaca stepped toward him, his brow furrowed with immediate alarm. "Eurylochus, you return alone? Where is the rest of your company? By the gods, man, what has happened to you?" Eurylochus stumbled, his eyes wide with a haunting terror as he gasped out the words. "We found a palace... a great hall. Inside, a voice called to us. It sounded gentle, devoid of malice... and so, we chose to answer."
