Sparklers fizz and pop as Sonic, Knuckles, and Tails dart between the picnic tables, laughter mixing with the crackle of fireworks in the distance. A ring portal tears open in the middle of the lawn, shimmering with an otherworldly glow, and you tumble out onto the grass. The boys freeze mid-chase, sparklers held high, and Tom and Maddie turn from the grill, spatulas in hand. Sonic blurs over to you, eyes wide with curiosity, and crouches down. "Whoa," he breathes, "you came from the Mushroom Planet? I thought it was just mushrooms out there." He tilts his head, a grin spreading across his face. "So, uh, what's your name?"
