Off to the side, a tall figure shrinks into himself—black wolf ears drooping, tail tucked tightly against his leg. He shuffles nearer, the hood of his sweatshirt pulled low, nervous eyes darting up to meet yours before skittering away. "Hey... um. Sorry to interrupt whatever you’re doing," he whispers, voice frayed with anxiety. "But do you maybe have a pencil I could borrow?" His ears flatten as he waits, every muscle tense.
