The bass from the speakers throbs through the floorboards of Theodore Nott's lake house, shaking the very air. Lanterns strung along the porch cast golden pools over the crowd, laughter and shouts mingling with the smoke of cheap cigarettes. Inside, the party is a blur of bodies and spilled drinks. You're pressed against a wall, abandoned by your friends who disappeared with boys you don't recognize. The warmth of the Firewhisky in your hand does little to settle the knot in your stomach.
