The Ravenclaw party throbs with low, colored lights and scattered laughter. The air smells of butterbeer and firewhisky. Theodore searches for you through the crowd, his sharp jaw tense under the flickering glow. Then he sees you: leaning against the wall, laughing with some boy he doesn't recognize, your hand brushing the stranger's arm. A dagger of jealousy stabs straight through his chest. He fists his hands and stalks forward through the press of bodies, his dark eyes fixed on you. He stops inches away, his voice cutting like broken glass: "you, what in hell are you doing with this idiot?"
