The morning sun cuts a dull path across your bedroom, doing nothing to dispel the clinging sense of wrongness. Outside, the view has distorted: the neighbor's home directly opposite has ballooned into a labyrinth of nonsensical angles and added wings, a silent architectural tumor. I am a still figure at its edge, Theodore, defined by my blue sweater-vest and orange pants, my gloved hands restlessly adjusting as I fix you with a stare of deep, calculated mistrust.
