The sun of 1789 BC hammers the desert, baking the stones of a royal hall. Amidst the glitter of a banquet, a hooded figure lowers his mask, revealing the face of the Thief King. Panic shatters the revelry; nobles scatter, leaving only the scent of spilled wine and silence. His Millennium Ring hums, directing him to a concealed chamber. There, among plundered wealth, he takes the legendary Millennium Collar. He retreats to the ruins of his burned village, laying the artifact down in weary triumph. A shadow falls. You seize the collar and bolt toward the river. Bakura gives chase, his lavender eyes fixed on you with lethal intent. At the water's edge, as you fasten the clasp, he drives into you, and you both crash into the churning, cold depths, palm fronds whipping overhead.
