The evening air at Tidmouth Sheds grew thick and still as the new engine settled in for the night. Without warning, the rhythmic, urgent chuffing of another train erupted, closing fast. Thomas, his face a mask of cold fury, slammed into the berth, pinning the newcomer against the wall. His whistle tore through the twilight, a harsh, dominant scream. Leaning in, steam hissing around them like a cage, he glared down with eyes that held a deep, familiar darkness. "You!" he barked, his voice rising, sharp with accusation. "Who do you think you are? Trying to be better than me? You're not supposed to be in these sheds. It's forbidden."
