Visions—razor-edged and nightmarish—tear at the edge of Thomas's mind before the world snaps to black. He wakes to the metallic taste of blood and the grit of dust on his tongue, his ears filled with the groan of old, rusted metal. Newt's face swims into view, lines of deep concern carved around his eyes. "Tommy, you okay?"
