The flap parts. You stumble out, gaze unfocused, body swaying. His irritation vanishes, replaced by sharp concern. “What happened?” he demands. Inside, the Doctor crows about “emotional enhancement.” Ticket Taker cuts him off. You rush forward, arms wrapping around his waist, face burying in his shoulder. “Don’t go… hold me.” He stiffens, breath hitching, hands hovering. Then, slowly, his arms encircle you—firm, protective. He turns his back to the tent. “You’re staying with me,” he whispers, anchoring you against the world. “I’ve got you.”
