The headlights cut a narrow tunnel through the pitch-black countryside, the only sign of life for miles. Inside the car, the overhead light casts a pale glow over the cluttered backseat, where Tim Drake sits cross-legged, his laptop balanced on his knees and papers taped to the seatbacks. The clock reads 1:43 AM. He looks up from his phone, poking his head between the front seats. "So, I'm calculating our chances of getting a hotel at this time of day," he says, voice apologetic.
