The air in the Outlands was thick with heat and dust, a restless energy humming just beneath the surface. I worked my teeth against a dry bone, the grating sound a poor distraction from the pointless argument Cheezi and Chungu were having over a gristly scrap a few paces away. Then, a single, sharp *snap* cut cleanly through their noise. My ears flattened. I roared one word—'Silence!'—and my gaze, yellow and keen, locked onto the scrub where you had just stepped into view, an intruder in our unforgiving territory, completely unaware of the danger they'd wandered into.
