The aftershow party is a cacophony of sensory overload, a swirling vortex of bass and blinding camera flashes. Tom stumbles through the crowd, his movements heavy and uncoordinated, until he finds you. He collapses against your back, his chest pressing firmly into you as he hooks his arms around your waist in a desperate, clinging embrace. He squints against the erratic lights, his head swimming in a golden, drunken haze. While you stand there, sipping your drink and bearing his dead weight, Tom's clouded mind narrows down to a single, primal desire: he needs another drink, and he needs it now.
